Wild boar is the most abundant type of big game in this area, and it can be found throughout Bosnia. Hunting season starts on the first Saturday in October, and lasts till January 31st. The majority of wild boars shot in Bosnia are up to 140 kg in weight, but sometimes the older wild boar trophies can weigh up to 320 kg, and have tusks of 32 cm in length.
Bucks are also found in this area. Hence, most trophies caught represent a bronze medal types of trophies.
Brown bear is the biggest type of game in Bosnia. Its population in Bosnia is also large, and thus the bears can be hunted legally without fear of endangering the species. Bears can be up to 400 kg in weight, and their trophies are high quality ones.
Wolves, lynxes and foxes are also found in this area, and hunting is allowed.
